Role of CMOS Battery in laptop repairing course
A student face lots of problem in laptop repairing course,
now I am giving information about CMOS battery. The CMOS (Complementary
Metal-Oxide Semiconductor) battery provides energy for saving BIOS configurations
when the pc is turned off. Nonvolatile BIOS (Basic input output system) memory
refers to a small memory on pc or laptop motherboards that is used to store
BIOS settings. CMOS battery used to store basic information of computer like
Date and Time info.
The standard life of a CMOS battery is around 10 Years.
However, this can differ based on the use and environment in which the computer
exists.
Symptoms of a discharge or non working CMOS: Laptops or
computer mostly shoes up excellent and everything seems to be regular, except
for some small issues that are:
· Each time
after restart the computer time and Date change.
· Most of
laptop drivers stop working.
· Computer
starts restarting self.
· There is a
challenging CMOS-related mistake while booting.
· And there
are other strange components problems.
Any one of these problems can be due to lots of reason. But
if a few of them match, then it’s a sure indication that your CMOS battery
energy is unable. One another method of checking CMOS battery is dead or alive that
is used by professionals, touch the battery with your tongue and if you feel a
little current it means the battery is live otherwise its dead.
Because of the extensive range pc and laptop, there are
several methods to get into the BIOS or CMOS Installation. Just open you laptop
or computer and replace CMOS battery. Different brand’s laptop place it in different
location but it’s very easy to find because it is the only component which shining
